Wholesale Christmas Giftware: What Australian Gift Shops Are Stocking for 2026

If you run a gift shop, café, florist or homewares store, Christmas is the quarter that pays for the year. This guide to wholesale Christmas gifts in Australia covers what independent retailers are stocking for 2026, when to order so stock lands before the December rush, and how trade pricing works at eWholesale, with 20% off RRP and no minimum order.

Every product linked below was in stock when we wrote this. Bulk packs are sold in the quantities shown in the product name.

When to order Christmas stock

Most gift shops do their main Christmas buy in October and a top-up order in mid-November, once they can see what is selling. Ordering early gets you the full range of colours and designs before the popular lines sell through.

For 2026, the key dates are:

  • Now to late October: main Christmas buy. Full range available.
  • Mid-November: top-up order on your best sellers.
  • Monday 14 December: last order date for WA, Tasmania, NT, and large or supplier-shipped items.
  • Thursday 17 December: last order date for standard metro delivery in NSW, VIC, QLD, SA and the ACT.
  • Wednesday 23 December: our last dispatch day for 2026. Dispatch restarts Monday 4 January.

Full details are on our Christmas shipping page.

Six Christmas categories gift shops are stocking for 2026

1. Candles and reed diffusers

Candles are the easiest Christmas gift to sell: they suit every budget, they're easy to wrap, and customers come back for refills. Scented soy candles and reed diffusers sell well as standalone gifts. LED candles work for shop displays and for customers who can't use a real flame.

2. Photo frames

Frames are the classic Christmas gift for grandparents, and they sell all year, so stock left over in January isn't wasted. Gold and scalloped styles are popular this season.

3. Festive decor

Festive decor brings people in the door in November. A front table of wreaths, candle holders and Christmas mugs tells customers your Christmas range has arrived.

The full Christmas range has over 800 lines.

4. Gift bags and boxes

Gift packaging is a small add-on that lifts the value of each sale. Wine gift boxes suit bottle shops, cafés and gift stores in December.

5. Plaques and signs

Small signs with a family message are popular impulse buys at the counter, and they're easy to post or pop in a stocking.

6. Small garden ornaments

Australian summer Christmas means people are outside, and small garden pieces make good gifts for gardeners. Australian animals like echidnas also make good gifts to post to family overseas.

RRP vs trade pricing: a worked example

Prices on our website are RRP. With a free trade account, you get 20% off RRP on every order, with no minimum spend.

Here is a sample Christmas starter order for a small gift shop:

Item RRP Trade price (20% off)
Bulk 6 Artisan Vue scented candles $118.80 $95.04
Bulk 24 Gold Foiled Xmas Mugs $172.80 $138.24
Bulk 48 Xmas Tree & Santa Gift Bags $120.97 $96.78
Bulk 12 LED Xmas Rustic Pillar Candles $212.40 $169.92
Total $624.97 $499.98

That's a saving of $124.99 on one order. At trade price, each mug costs you $5.76, each scented candle $15.84, and each gift bag about $2.02. You set your own shelf price.

Add gift packaging to every sale

Offering to box or bag a gift at the counter is the simplest upsell in retail. Customers buying a candle or frame for someone else will often pay a few dollars more to have it ready to give. Keep a stack of gift bags and boxes beside the register, and display a wrapped example so customers can see the finished result.
